Mission:
Provide the best possible service to the citizens and visitors of Cordele through firefighter recruitment and retention, professionalism (actions and appearance), extensive training, quick response, effective emergency mitigation, community risk reduction programs, and community engagement.
Cordele Fire Department is composed of 27 certified firefighters which are divided between two stations. Station 1 is located at 509 7th Street North and Station 2 located at 316 24th Avenue West. We are an “All Call” department responsible for responding to structure fires, EMS/rescue calls, trauma, rail, and hazardous materials calls. We respond to almost 1000 calls per year.
Ratings:
Cordele Fire Department is rated as a Class 2 Department with ISO (Insurance Services Office) Public Protection Classification Program. As a CLASS 2 Department, Cordele Fire is now in the top 4% of the almost 40,000 Fire Departments nationwide in which just over 1700 departments have achieved a CLASS 2 rating.
