The Water & Sewer Department is responsible for performing tasks as listed below:
- Maintains over 126.6 miles of water mains and over 90.1 miles of sanitary sewer mains, which now extend into certain areas of the county.
- Services 6005 Water Services.
- Services 4681 Sanitary sewer services.
- Responds to over 1900 customer service calls each year.
- Sewer usage is based on the amount of water that is used. A separate meter for irrigation is suggested in order to avoid a sewer charge for water used for irrigation.
Contractors may obtain a hydrant meter at Public Works for fire hydrant use at special projects. All City water/sewer complaints, comments, reports, etc. should be made to the Public Works Office at 229-276-2540, 229-276-2541 o,r 229-273-6136.
