Training and Education
Cordele Fire is dedicated to keeping its firefighters trained and up to date on the latest training procedures as well as keeping current with education responsibilities. Cordele Fire routinely sends eligible staff for training at the Fire Academy located in Forsyth, Ga. They also participate in continuing education courses held at South Georgia Tech (Cordele Campus) and any other activities that are deemed suitable by Training officer Frank Bullington.
Upon hire within the Cordele Fire Department new personnel will undergo 8 weeks of basic training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Upon completion of those 8 weeks firefighters are certified within the State of Georgia, they will continue to return to the training center to participate in any continuing education courses.
