has been the primary provider of law enforcement services for our community.

Your career
as a Crodele Police officer begins with training at the South Georgia
Regional Police Academy. While attending the academy you will receive
full salary and benefits. Once you have graduated from the academy, you
will be assigned to work with an experienced field training officer, performing
formal police duties. After completing the field training period, the
officer is released to conduct patrol activities as an officer.
Throughout
your career in law enforcement there will be a constant need for training
on new laws and updated police procedures. We offer continuing education
and a variety of specialized training schools to enhance officer's skills.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
18 years of age
United States Citizen
Valid Driver's License
No Felony Convictions

Process
In order to maintain the high standards for our officers, the department
has a thorough and rigorous selection process. Each applicant must complete
the following:
- Written
Test
- Standardized
Interview Board
- Background
Investigation
- Psychological
Stress Evaluation or Polygraph Examination
- Psychological
Assessment
- Physical
Agility Test
- Executive
Interview
- Medical/Drug
Screening
- POST
Academy Entry Exam
- 12 month
Probationary Period

Benefits
Equipment: All equipment and uniforms including duty weapon are provided.
Each officer is assigned a patrol unity and allowed to take the unit home
if he lives in Crisp county. Otherwise, the unit is parked at the police
department.
Career
Development: No agency will provide you with as much advanced training
as the Cordele Police Department. A standards program of advanced training
courses including RADAR, Intoximeter Operations, Criminal Procedures,
Interviews, and Interrogations are strategically scheduled to enhance
each officer's development.
Salary
and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and benefit package that
